Residential School Survivors

Survivor X attended Lebret (IRS)”Indian Residential School” run by the Oblate Fathers and Grey nuns<Catholics>. When survivor X was in Lebret IRS, Survivor X  was physically abused, psychologically abused,and sexually abused by a nun and a priest…Survivor X was called derogatory racist names and punished for speaking her mother-language . Survivor X said that this abuse has had many harmful effects on her life, and, inparticular, that it destroyed Survivor X’s sense of safety and personal worth. For much of Survivor X’s life, She has been a prisoner in her home/house because of overwhelming anxiety and debilitating phobias. The abuse Survivor X suffered at Lebret IRS has impacted her educational achievement and employability. The abuse has also impacted her parenting abilities , relationships, and has caused Survivor X to be hyper-vigilant and over protective of  her Family
